Product Overview

Indium Flux #2 is a specialty acid-based liquid solder flux formulated for soldering high chromium-containing alloys, including stainless steel. It is also proven effective for soldering Nitinol (NiTi) and other difficult-to-solder metals where aggressive oxide removal is required.

Flux #2 promotes improved solder wetting by removing surface oxides that can interfere with reliable solder joint formation. The flux is commonly used in medical device manufacturing, prototype development, and specialty mechanical assembly applications involving stainless steel and advanced alloys.

Due to its corrosive nature, Flux #2 is generally recommended for mechanical assembly joining applications rather than electrical applications, and all flux residue should be thoroughly removed after soldering.

Packaging & Shelf Life

Jar Pack: 25 GM

Available in liquid form for precision soldering applications.

Store according to manufacturer recommendations in a cool, dry environment.

Post-solder cleaning is required after use.

Cleaning Instructions

Flux residue removal is mandatory and may be accomplished by means of warm water and mechanical scrubbing. Cleaning should be performed as soon as possible after the soldering operation to avoid corrosion. The cleaning water temperature should be 50°C. A warm water sonication may also be a means of flux residue removal.
